Heather Cottage Bed and Breakfast is in a quiet lane on the New Forest where ponies roam free past your door.

All our visitors receive a warm welcome with a choice of the following rooms:

All rooms have tea/coffee making, WiFi, T.V, and radio.
A travel cot is available by arrangement.

Heather Cottage Breakfasts may be served in the dining room, conservatory, or garden on sunny mornings. We are delighted to offer cooked or continental breakfasts using locally sourced food, and we can cater for special dietary requirements by arrangement.

Guests are welcome to arrive from 5.00pm and we appreciate having access to your rooms by 10.30 am. If you have other requirements please discuss these when making your booking, so that they can be accommodated. Alternatively you may like to consider our self catering cottage, Heatherview, which can also be booked to enable you to holiday with friends.

Discover the New Forest

Heather Cottage is in the delightful New Forest village of Sway. The village centre has shops, a post office, village church, a pub and a train station. The Hare and Hounds public house serves good meals and welcomes children, it is 5 minutes away from the B&B.

Lymington with its Georgian buildings, harbour, marinas and access to the Solent Way coastal path is a short drive away, here you will also find a wider choice of restaurants and shops, and a fantastic Saturday market.The Isle of Wight ferry leaves hourly for day trips to the Isle of Wight.

Sway and the surrounding New Forest area is popular for walking, riding, cycling, sailing, fishing, bird watching, and the contrasting atmospheres of wooded forest, heath, the Solent, open sea and beaches. Beaulieu Abbey and National Motor museum, Exbury Gardens, Hurst and Calshot castles, Moors Valley Country Park and Paultons Park are all within half an hours drive.

The cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester, shopping centres in Southampton and Bournemouth and the Navy basis and Maritime museums of Portsmouth are less than an hour away. All have museums, art galleries, cinema and theatres for your pleasure.

Directions on how to find us

From Lyndhurst take the A 337. On reaching Brockenhurst take the B 3055 opposite Careys Manor Hotel and LeBlaireau Restaurant, stay on the B 3055 and go under two railway bridges and take the 2nd turning on the left at Sway Memorial signposted Pennington. Chapel Lane will be found in approximately 1/4 mile on the right hand side just after the post box. Heather Cottage is 4 cottages down on the left hand side. Have a safe journey, there is a 40 mile an hour limit on the B 3055 and New Forest Ponies have the right of way.
