Ringwood

Ringwood on the western side of the New Forest by the River Avon and is accessible by the M27 and A31 from London. It is a traditional market town, once home of a cattle market, now tradition continues with a street market, every Wednesday in the market Square. This market town is a mixture of Thatched Cottages and Georgian Town House.

The Duke of Monmouth was held captive after the Bloody Battle of Sedgemoor in 1685. In Monmouth Court you will find the Old Toy Shop, it has splendid clockwork, steam and vintage toys. There are many shops to explore and eating houses to suit every taste

Liberty's Raptor and Reptile Centre formerly The New Forest Owl Sanctuary is 5 minutes south-east of the town. Ringwood also has its own museum in the Ringwood Town and Country Experience 'More than just a museum: A real treat for all the family' . To the north east of Ringwood the peace and tranquility of the New Forest where lovely long walks can be had through the enclosures.

To the North is The New Forest Water Park, for family fun, where you can learn to Water-ski, jet ski or have fun on an inflatable banana ! Another family attraction is Moors Valley Country Park, with its Forest Play trail for children, miniature steam railway, golf course, woodland walks and lakes.
