

It commands wonderful uninterrupted views of the countryside and there are walks directly accessible from thegarden. Just one mile away is the centre of the pretty village of Rockbourne, where a stream flows past cottagesof brick, cob and thatch. There are excellent local village pubs.
Within a short drive is the New Forest, Braemore House, an interesting Elizabethan Manor House, Rockbourne
Roman Villa, Rockbourne Trout Fishery, plus Cranborne and Wilton Houses and Gardens. Salisbury is less than
ten miles away with open air markets every Tuesday and Saturday. It boasts one of the finest Cathedrals in
Europe, many historic sites, plentiful restaurants and an excellent theatre 'The Salisbury Playhouse'. For time
on the beach and a paddle in the sea, Bournemouth and Poole are merely twenty miles away.
Duck's Nest has its own interesting history.
At one time, part of Tenantry Farm lay
within the enclosure of a Romano British
farm. A long barrow borders the boundary of
our copse. Originally known as 'Dukes Rest',
it was a retreat for hunting and shooting
parties.
There are three ground floor rooms comprising a well furnished kitchen including fridge, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities; a bathroom with walk in shower and a beautifully appointed bedroom/sitting room with twin beds, colour tv and computer laptop wireless facility.
There is a small private courtyard area with table and chairs for the sole use of visitors, as well as the use of a summer house to enjoy the views.
The annexe is centrally heated by oil and there is constant hot water. Bed linen and towels are included and there is ample private parking. There are full ironing facilities and a hairdryer.
The accomodation is designed for two people plus a cot. However, we are sorry but there is no smoking, and as there are sheep and pheasants in the paddock and surrounding farmland, we cannot accept pets.
